The work

Twenty years of being the person you call when a Lao detail has to be right.

It started because I could not stop asking why — why this many candles, why that direction, why the thread on the left wrist — and it ended with other people asking me. Most of it has been unpaid and most of it has been for my own community. Some of it has been for productions that needed someone who knew.

I do not keep a portfolio. Most of this happens in people's homes, at temples, and on days where photographing the work would have been the wrong thing to be doing. What exists is on Instagram, mixed in with everything else.
